RIH Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower to open Monday; new access points to open
KAMLOOPS — The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower at Royal Inland Hospital will begin operation on Monday (July 18), and that means new hospital access procedures for the public.
In a news release, Interior Health says the changes will apply to both main entrance and emergency room at the hospital.
Members of the public accessing the main entrance and patient drop-off area can find it at the front doors of the tower, directly opposite from the Clinical Services Building parkade. The public will continue to park in the parkade, with foot access to the main hospital entrance from Level P4.
The access to the emergency room is now permanently located at the hospital’s east-side roundabout, near the former coffee shop. The public will no longer be able to park at the former emergency room entrance and ambulance bays. Short-term parking for the emergency department will now be located on the right side of the drive leading to the roundabout.
