Kamloops RCMP arrest man, seize BB-gun after firearm call

KAMLOOPS — RCMP swarmed a busy Kamloops North Shore shopping area Wednesday evening (July 13) after a gun complaint.

Officers received a report of a man with a gun in the 700-block of Fortune Drive at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Multiple frontline officers rushed to the scene. They obtained a suspect description that led to the arrest of a man near Eighth Street.

“A BB-gun and suspected illegal drugs were seized as part of the ongoing investigation,” said detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

The man has been released with a court date and conditions, pending subsequent charge recommendation.
