KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Kamloops say an off-duty officer was instrumental in the arrest of a robbery suspect last week.
The robbery took place on April 24 at 7:05 p.m. at a restaurant in the 600-block of Tranquille Road. An employee reported being robbed at knifepoint. Subsequent patrols could not locate the suspect.
A surveillance camera image of the suspect was distributed to local officers and, two days later, the off-duty officer spotted the suspect walking along Lansdowne Street.
The off-duty officer contacted on-duty officers, who came to the scene and arrested the woman. She was eventually released on conditions with a court date.
