KAMLOOPS — A man is awaiting a court date for charges related to allegedly breaking into multiple properties in the Chestnut Avenue area of the North Shore.

On April 26, officers were called to a break-in on the 100-block of Chestnut Avenue. A resident reportedly got into a scuffle with a man he interrupted breaking into his shed.

RCMP contained the surrounding area and used police dogs to search for a suspect but were unsuccessful.

About an hour-and-a-half later, officers were called to a property down the street for another break-and-enter in progress. They located and arrested a man inside of a shed who matched the description of the earlier suspect. Police seized some items, including a bike, that were suspected to be stolen.
