WHL points leader in January, Stankoven named Player of the Month

KAMLOOPS — Following up on his WHL Player of the Week status, Logan Stankoven has been named the league’s Player of the Month for January.

The 18-year-old led the WHL in points during the month with 24 — 10 goals and 14 assists. It puts him fourth among league scoring.

In six of the nine games Stankoven played in January, helping the Blazers to a 7-2 record, he tallied three or more points. It was highlighted by his third-career hat-trick against Victoria on Saturday (Jan. 29).

He’s on a 10-game point streak, amassing 27 of his 56 points on the year. He’ll try to add to the streak this weekend during a three-game road trip that starts Friday in Langley against the Giants.
