Stankoven scores hat trick, Blazers beat Royals 8-4
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have caught fire again, winning their fifth straight game Saturday (Jan. 29) night over the Victoria Royals 8-4.
The Royals put up more of a fight after the first period than previous visits to the Sandman Centre, as they were deadlocked with the Blazers at 1-1 after the first periods.
But the first line of Luke Toporowski, Logan Stanoven, and Caedan Bankier blew the doors open in the second, combining to score four goals and four assists in the middle frame. Three Blazers goals within the first six minutes of the third period put them up for good.
