Thieves take cables from downtown Kamloops pump station; damage estimated to exceed $10,000

KAMLOOPS — Thieves did more than $10,000 damage to a City of Kamloops pump station this week.
According to Kamloops RCMP, the culprits broke into a pump station near Riverside Park on Lorne Street, cutting and stealing large diameter electrical cables.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious at or near the pump station this weekend or knows someone who suddenly came into possession of large electric cables, please let us know,” said Cst. Crystal Evelyn. “When people steal or damage City property, it impacts all those who live here.”
