KAMLOOPS — An investigation that began 15 months ago has yielded charges against a Kamloops man for possession of child pornography.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP say they were contacted by the B.C. Integrated Child Exploitation Unit in April of 2020 regarding a local individual uploading child pornography online.

Investigators undertook a major investigation and that has resulted in a single charge of possession of child pornography against 32-year-old Devan Shane Wallis.

Wallis was released from custody on conditions not to attend any park, public swimming area, community centre or theatre where someone under the age of 18 could be realistically expected to be. In addition, he was told to stay away from daycare facilities, school grounds and playgrounds. Wallis is also prohibited from accessing computers connected to the internet.
