SALMON ARM, B.C. — Following a two-year investigation, a 23-year-old Salmon Arm man has been arrested and charged with child pornography offences.

Brecken Peters was officially charged with one count of possessing child pornography and two counts of distributing child pornography. He was arrested without incident on June 25 and has since been released from custody with conditions.

The arrest stems from multiple reports of online child sexual exploitation received by the BC Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (BC ICE) in May 2019.

Peters is expected to appear in Salmon Arm Provincial Court on Sept. 14, 2021. RCMP said since the case is now before the court, they cannot provide any further details.
