Shuswap woman drowns in Mara Lake

SICAMOUS, B.C. — RCMP say a Sicamous resident drowned while swimming in Mara Lake Monday night (July 5).
Emergency responders rushed to the lake near Swansea Point at about 10:00 p.m. Monday, with reports of a swimmer going under the surface.
The 42-year-old woman had been swimming with a friend when she went under the water.
The friend managed to find her under the water and bring her to the shore.
