KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say one suspect has been arrested after a woman was reportedly robbed and stabbed at a Sahali business Tuesday morning (June 8).

Mounties rushed to a business in the 1200-block of Summit Drive, believed to be McCleaners, at about 7:13 a.m. after a panic alarm came in. As they rushed to the scene, officers were told a person had been robbed and stabbed.

A woman was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

RCMP say a suspect has been arrested, but a second man believed to be involved is still at large.

The men were described as white and riding bicycles; one was wearing a long, green camo jacket and dark pants while the other was dressed all in dark clothing.

Operations Officer Insp. Jeff Pelley notes a truck fire further up Summit Drive, in the 1300-block, may also be connected to the incident.

“Police are asking anyone who saw, heard, or captured video footage that may be related to the robbery or truck fire to please contact police as soon as possible,” said Pelley in a news release. “Addressing this kind of violence and crime remains a top priority for us and we’re asking for the public’s help in continuing to move this investigation forward.”

Anyone with more information is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
