RCMP swarm Sahali after armed robbery

KAMLOOPS — (NOTE: This story has been updated here.)

UPDATE (9:10 a.m.) — RCMP are looking for the suspect in a Sahali armed robbery Tuesday morning (June 8).

In a news release, spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the robbery report came in after a panic alarm at about 7:13 a.m. from a business in the 1200-block of Summit Drive. Members were told a person had been robbed and injured there.

Police soon gathered in front of McCleaners, at the corner of Summit Drive and Arrowstone Drive. Police Dog Services, General Investigation Services and Street Enforcement members soon joined.

Evelyn asks the public to avoid the area Tuesday morning. Members continue to search for a suspect.

8:30 a.m. — Kamloops RCMP have responded to an incident in the Columbia Shopping Centre Tuesday morning (June 8) around 7:30 a.m.

A witness reported seeing more than a half dozen police cars in front of the McCleaners Laundromat. Police tape can been seen on the door of the laundromat.

An ambulance was also on the scene.

RCMP haven’t commented on the situation.
