Interior Health reports 609 active cases, with 16 people in hospital including four in intensive care. IH says Wednesday’s report that there was no one in ICU was a mistake; it should have been four.

There were 12 more deaths from the virus, bringing the province’s death toll to 481.

According to IH, one of those deaths took place at Kelowna’s Mountainview Village long-term care residence, where an outbreak has been declared. IH says there are three cases associated with that outbreak. The death was the fourth related to COVID-19 within Interior Health. The victim was a man in his 80s.

Public health officials are now actively monitoring 10,849 people because they have had direct exposure to known COVID-19 cases.

A total of 24,928 people – or 70 per cent of all known cases – are considered fully recovered from the virus.
