UPDATE: Trans Canada reopened after incident east of Salmon Arm

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: The highway has re-opened, according to Drive BC.

EARLIER: The Trans Canada highway has been closed in both directions east of Salmon Arm.

According to Drive BC, emergency officials are in the midst of pulling at least one vehicle from the ditch. Emergency crews were called out to the area around 6:00 am this (Oct. 26) morning.

The highway is closed between Canoe Beach Drive and Bernie Road. That’s a stretch of 11 kilometres. It’s not clear when the road will be reopened. No detours have been established.
