B.C. COVID-19 case count grows by 102; eight more in Interior

VICTORIA — Provincial health officials are reporting 102 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (Oct. 6), including eight new cases within Interior Health.

The new cases bring the provincial total to 9,841, spread through the province as follows:

• 3,612 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 32)
• 5,038 — Fraser Health (up by 58)
• 221 — Island Health (up by 1)
• 556 — Interior Health (up by 8)
• 324 — Northern Health (up by 2)
• 90 — Reside outside of Canada (up by 1)

There are now 1,384 active cases in B.C., including 71 people who are in hospital and 16 in intensive care.

Two more people have died of the virus, bringing the provincial death toll to 244.
