Suspected catalytic converter thieves nabbed in Lytton
LYTTON, B.C. — RCMP say a recent interrupted theft in Lytton underscores how catalytic converters have become hot commodities.
According to a news release from Southeast District RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, the incident happened on August 22 along Lytton’s Main Street.
After hearing the sound of a power saw cutting through metal, a witness saw a man and a woman cutting at a Honda Odyssey minivan.
When the witness verbally confronted the duo, they got into another vehicle and drove off. Responding officers found the suspect vehicle and made a pair of arrests.
