VICTORIA — The province is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 Friday (July 3) — but the total for the province will only go up by seven to 2,947.

According to a provincial news release, that’s because six previously reported case have been removed as those people were actually residents of other provinces. Those six cases will now be reported in their home provinces.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says there are 162 active cases of the virus in B.C. Friday, with 19 people in hospital and two patients in intensive care.

No new outbreaks have been reported and there are no new deaths Friday, leaving the B.C. death toll at 177.
