Province reports 26 new COVID-19 cases over three days, but no new deaths

VICTORIA — The province says 26 more people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 over the past three days.

On Monday afternoon (June 29), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry provided her first update on the COVID-19 case counts since last Friday.

Dr. Henry says ten new cases were reported Saturday, 14 new cases on Sunday and just two new cases Monday.

The total of all cases discovered in B.C. since the pandemic arrived is 2,904, spread out as follows:

  • 979 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 1,529 (Fraser Health)
  • 131 (Island Health)
  • 200 (Interior Health)
  • 65 (Northern Health)

Dr. Henry noted an exposure event revealed over the weekend at Brandi’s Exotic Show Lounge in Vancouver. According to Vancouver Coastal Health, several people who were at the club from June 21 to June 24 have tested positive for COVID-19.

There are 153 active cases of the virus in B.C. Monday, including 18 people who are hospitalized and five people in either critical or intensive care.

No one has died of COVID-19 over the past three days, leaving the province’s death toll at 174.

The total of those considered fully recovered is 2,577, or 89 per cent.
