Interior Health goes full incubation period with no new COVID-19 cases

VICTORIA — Interior Health has now gone one full incubation period without recording a new case of COVID-19.

In new figures released Wednesday (June 10), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the province saw 12 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in B.C. to 2,680.

The total in Interior Health remains at 195, meaning the last new case in this region was recorded on May 28 – 14 days ago.

There are 185 active cases in the province. Twelve people are in hospital, including four in intensive care. The number of people considered fully recovered is 2,328, or 87 per cent of the total.

For the fifth consecutive day, no one has died of COVID-19 in B.C. The province’s death toll remains at 167.

A new COVID-19 outbreak has been found at Holy Family Hospital, a long-term care facility in Vancouver. There are five active healthcare facility outbreaks and six active community outbreaks in B.C.
