CHARLIZE THERON’S DONATES TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS: Charlize Theron‘s foundation, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), has donated $1 million to COVID-19 relief efforts, with $500,000 earmarked for domestic violence shelters. Her father was abusive as a child, and she has been open about the realities of domestic violence, including the fact that her mother killed her father in self-defense. (ET)
CAMERON DIAZ TALKS SLEEP: Having a newborn does a number on your sleep schedule, but Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have it figured out with 3-month-old Raddix, she tells makeup artist Gucci Westman in an Instagram talk. “Benji wants to go to bed late, and I like to go to bed early,” Diaz explained. “That works so well for us as parents. I can go to bed a few hours early and he does those later feeds with her. [Then] I can wake up early and be with her in the morning and he can sleep.” (ET)
SOFIA COPPOLA SHARES HER FATHER’S ADVICE: Director Sofia Coppola says that her director dad Francis Coppola gave her an unusual gift when she was a kid. The Oscar winner told Annette Insdorf during a virtual 92nd Street Y talk that Francis gave her an encyclopedia of “poetics” and she said that he “always talked about film being poetry.” Sofia’s next film star Bill Murray and is called On the Rocks. DORINDA MEDLEY TOASTS PETER BEARD: The Real Housewives of New York City star Dorinda Medley shared her memories of the late photographer Peter Beard during a Zoom tour of her Berkshires manse. “I went to a party at his house, probably 15 years ago, and I left at like 1 [a.m.] I came back for brunch at 11 [a.m.] and I said, ‘Peter, you’re wearing the same thing from last night!’ And he said, ‘No, I’m still up from last night.’ And he was fine!” She added, “He was a great artist, but he was also such a great liver from an era there will never be again.” (Page Six)
