KAMLOOPS — The Radio Television Digital News Association has announced its regional awards for 2020, and CFJC‘s newsroom has another feather in its cap.

The B-100 5:00 p.m. News has been chosen as the winner of the Byron MacGregor Award for best radio newscast in small and medium markets.

CFJC‘s newsroom was a finalist in two other categories.

CFJC’s sister station, CKPG in Prince George, was also a winner, taking the Dave Rogers Award for best television long feature for a small or medium market.

Back in Kamloops, the CBC newsroom was victorious in the categories of best radio long feature and best radio sports feature reporting.

The awards are annually given out at a gala event in Vancouver, but this year’s event was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions.

All regional winners go on to compete at the national level.
