DRAKE DROPS NEW SINGLE ‘TOOSIE SLIDE’: Drake has released his new single “Toosie Slide,” named after social media influencer Toosie. On the song, he sings, “It go right foot up, left foot, slide / Left foot up, right foot, slide. Basically I’m sayin’ either way we ’bout to slide.” On the song, he also pays homage to Michael Jackson and Tupac, singing, Don’t you wanna dance with me? / I could dance like Michael Jackson / I could give you thug passion / It’s a ‘Thriller’ in the trap where we from.”
KESHA POSTPONES HIGH ROAD TOUR DUE TO COVID-19: Kesha announced that her High Road tour is being postponed due to COVID-19. In a message posted to social media, she apologized to fans and promised to reschedule for later this year. The trek was supposed to kick off April 23rd in Sugar Land, Texas. Kesha advised fans to hold on to their tickets as information on new dates will be announced soon.
BAZZI RELEASES TRIBUTE TO GIRLFRIEND, ‘RENEE’S SONG’: Bazzi has released a romantic new track, “Renee’s Song,” dedicated to his girlfriend, Australian model Renee Herbert, in honor of their two-year anniversary. “Dear Renee,” Bazzi wrote on Twitter. “I wrote a song for you – through everything we’ve been through, I hope this makes you feel special. Happy two year baby.” He later added, along with a montage of home video clips of the two, “my love – you’ve stood by my side through everything for two years. i wrote this for you & i hope you feel like the only girl in the world today…” “Renee’s Song,” from Bazzi’s upcoming sophomore album, follows last month’s release of “Young & Alive.”
TROYE SIVAN DROPS NEW SINGLE ‘TAKE YOURSELF HOME’: Troye Sivan has dropped the new single “Take Yourself Home,” which originally was set for release later in the year. Realizing that many freelance artists have struggled to find work in the face of the pandemic, Troye put out a call for creatives to develop visual elements for the rollout of “Take Yourself Home.” The visuals for the pre-save page, lyric video and other elements were sourced from artists who responded to Troye’s solicitation. Troye has also launched three t-shirts, designed by @jacktaylorlovatt and @Lanning and sourced via Instagram, with all proceeds to be donated to WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and Spotify’s COVID-19 Music Relief project.
