NESKONLITH, B.C. — RCMP have arrested three people who were part of a blockade on railroad tracks on Neskonlith land east of Kamloops.

In a news release, RCMP say officers were called in yesterday to assist Canadian Pacific police after at least two dozen protestors had blocked the CP Rail tracks near Chase.

Earlier today (Feb. 25), CP Rail enforced its court-ordered injunction and RCMP were called in to assist.

Three people were arrested for breaching the civil injunction by allegedly refusing to leave the tracks.

The remainder of the group removed their belongings from the tracks.

Social media posts have identified those arrested as the Secwepemc hereditary chief, his daughter, and a member of the Okanagan First Nation.
