KAMLOOPS — A pair of TRU Wolfpack women’s volleyball players have been named CanadaWest All-Stars for the 2019-2020 season.

Fifth-year Outside Hitter Kendra Finch was named to the First All-Star Team after leading the ‘Pack in many statistical categories throughout the year. Finch finished the year with 284 kills, 27 blocks, 288 digs, and 22 aces.

“Kendra has improved every year she’s been here,” Head Coach Chad Grimm said in an interview with WolfPack TV. “[She’s] proven she can be good not only on the defensive side of the ball but offensively, she’s been solid for us all year. I think that recognition is well- and long-deserved.”

First-year Middle Kseniya Kocyigit was named to the Second All-Star team. The CanadaWest rookie made quite an impression in her first year, racking up 177 kills, 91 blocks, 61 digs, and 32 aces. Kocyigit came to the WolfPack after playing pro for several years in Europe.

“Kseniya has been that veteran leader, positive influence,” Grimm said. “In crunch time, she’s always there and has put up good numbers, as well. For both of them, it’s well deserved.”

The WolfPack is preparing for a CanadaWest semifinal matchup against the top team in the country, the Trinity Western Spartans. TRU is ranked 7th in the U Sports national rankings, after sweeping the MacEwen Griffins in the CanadaWest quarterfinals last weekend.

Game 1 of the semifinals is set for Thursday, February 27th, at 6:00 pm in Langley, with Game 2 scheduled for Friday. If a 3rd game is necessary, it’s set for Saturday evening, also in Langley.
