KAMLOOPS — Human remains have been discovered in Kamloops, and police are investigating the death of this person as suspicious.

Kamloops RCMP plainclothes commander Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay says that police were called to the area of Carson Crescent on the North Shore for “a report of suspicious circumstances” around 10:00 a.m. today (Nov. 29).

Human remains were discovered in the area, and police have spoken with several witnesses.

The Kamloops Serious Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, and it’s asking for the public’s help in advancing the investigation.

“A body was found near the alley running behind 170 Carson Crescent. We are at the very early stages of this investigation. We do know this is a criminal matter and not someone who simply died from exposure,” Pillay explains. “The identity, gender, age, race are all unknown at this early stage. We expect there are witnesses out there who may be able to help us. We are asking anyone with information about who this person is to please contact Kamloops RCMP.”

If you know who this person is, know anything about the circumstances of the death, or saw any suspicious activity in this area, call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
