BARRIERE, B.C. — RCMP in Barriere are looking for more help as they look into an attempted child abduction.

On Friday (Nov. 22), a 10-year-old girl reported a man grabbed her by the wrist as she was walking along Dunn Lake Road and Barriere Town Road.

The girl managed to free herself and run away.

According to a news release, officers in Barriere have canvassed local residents for witnesses and are following up on tips they received from the public.

Cpl. Rob Welsman says police have also met with school officials to ensure both students and parents are aware of the situation. Welsman says further patrols are being made.

Welsman asks anyone who was travelling north of Dunn Lake Road from Barriere Town Road Friday between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to contact them, even if they feel they don’t have any specific information for the investigation.
