Extreme Excavating says work on West Victoria Street to wrap up for winter by mid-December at latest
KAMLOOPS — Even with the paving complete on West Victoria Street, the contractor Extreme Excavating is still working on the project, taking full advantage of the more mild weather the city’s been experiencing.
Extreme says there are another three weeks of work it plans to do, including paving businesses’ driveways and finishing up some of the sidewalk work.
“A good contractor out here, getting as much done as we can, but the weather is cooperating. If there was six inches of snow right now, we’d pull everything off because we’ve got everything done on the travel surface of the road,” said the city’s capital projects manager Darren Crundwell. “We’d pull everything out and be back up to four lanes and traffic as usual, but we’re getting as much done as we can. It’s just less disruption and less time in the spring that we have to work.”
