Coquihalla closed briefly near Merritt Friday after single-vehicle crash

MERRITT, B.C. — The southbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway north of Merritt were closed briefly Friday afternoon (Nov. 22) after a single-vehicle crash.

Const. Dane Duford of Merritt RCMP was at the scene.

“Single vehicle [motor vehicle incident]. Single occupant with minor injuries,” said Duford. “We ended up closing the highway as a precaution while EHS and [first responders] worked with them and she ended up getting out okay.”

Duford says the woman’s injuries were serious enough that she needed to be airlifted to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.
