Louise Edwards’ spirit reinflated as strangers respond to theft of decorations

KAMLOOPS — A frustrated Louise Edwards has found a silver lining.

The downtown Kamloops resident has become a legend in the city for her lavish yard displays for Halloween and Christmas. They include thousands of lights and inflatable decorations.

Last week, she revealed three of her large inflatable Halloween decorations had been stolen.

But Monday, Edwards told CFJC Today she has experienced the kindness of strangers in Kamloops.

Edwards says since the news of the thefts came out, she has received three inflatables from others, including two donated anonymously.

A neighbour sent her a cheque to cover the losses as well, and Edwards says the North Shore location of Headhunters sent her a card and cash.

Edwards says she also appreciates the many supportive messages that have been posted to social media since the story was made public, including many from people whose paths had crossed with hers over the years.
