KAMLOOPS — The annual Take Back the Night walk returns to Kamloops this evening, creating awareness around domestic and sexualized violence.
Hosted by the Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Centre, Agency Coordinator Barb Gladdish says the free event aims to give people a safe environment to gather and learn more.
“Take Back the Night has been going on internationally since the mid ’70s, and the message is to raise awareness and education about sexualized violence,” Gladdish explains. “It gives people, women in particular, an opportunity to gather and gain support from each other and the community.”
