EDMONTON — An Edmonton restaurant says it won’t mess with a Canada goose that has a nest near its patio.

The Boston Pizza in Manning Towne Centre in the city’s northeast says staff first encountered the goose Friday as they were getting the patio set up for a nice spring weekend.

General manager Tom Hedstrom says the mother goose hissed and ruffled her feathers every time someone walked out on the patio.

He says the nest, located just outside of the glass-walled area, had three eggs in it.

Hedstrom says it was decided to keep the patio closed until the eggs were hatched and the goose family moves on.

He says the eggs hatched Sunday afternoon, but the mother goose and her three goslings could still be around the nest for a few more days.
