A whole lot of chicken feed: Rural Alberta couple hit $60M lotto jackpot
ST. ALBERT, Alta. — It’s a whole lot more than chicken scratch for a rural Alberta couple who have won a $60-million Lotto Max jackpot.
Brett McCoy and Robin Walker say they found out they won the Sept. 22 draw while they were picking up chicken feed and treats for their kids at the McLeod Trading post in the hamlet of Peers.
Walker says that after she scanned the ticket, she ran outside to tell McCoy they’d won $60,000.
But the store clerk came after her and told her she should re-count the zeros on the ticket.
