SOUND OFF: Creating good-paying jobs for British Columbians
ACROSS THE WORLD, global uncertainty is affecting people, nations, and communities, and I know how important it is to make sure that here in B.C., people can have good jobs that they rely on.
By investing in local communities and fostering growth in key sectors, we’re helping make sure that we can protect and grow B.C.’s economy and workforce. We’re prioritizing key projects that create good, sustainable jobs for British Columbians.
And that’s showcased in our latest Labour Force update.
In March, we saw job growth in key sectors: 3,700 new jobs in manufacturing and 8,900 jobs in the agriculture sector. Additionally, self-employment grew by 13,300, highlighting how British Columbians are resilient, creative, and innovative entrepreneurs who are growing or starting their own businesses.
