PETE DAVIDSON GOT NICK CANNON’S BLESSING BEFORE PROPOSING TO ARIANA GRANDE: Before proposing to Ariana Grande, his girlfriend of just a few weeks, Pete Davidson got the blessing of an old friend. Nick Cannon, who gave Pete his first big break on MTV’s Wild ‘N Out, tells Entertainment Tonight that the SNL star called him before popping the question. “He called before he was going to do it, and I said, ‘Salud!’” Nick says. “He was really excited, so I was like, ‘I love it, man. Keep it going.’ Love is in the air!” Nick, who married Mariah Carey after just a few weeks of dating, knows a thing or two about brief courtships. “To see them together… and I’ve been one of those dudes with one of those fantasy, fantastic relationships where you just go off and get married, so I was like, ‘Do it’,” Nick says. “I’ve congratulated Pete. I haven’t spoken to Ariana, but I’m happy for them.” He even offered to officiate the wedding.
DR. LUKE’S LEGAL TEAM SHARES NEW STATEMENT ABOUT KATY PERRY RAPE ACCUSATIONS: Dr. Luke’s legal team is speaking out again after he was accused of raping Katy Perry in text messages revealed in New York court documents. Last week, the team denied the claims that Dr. Luke raped Katy, which was revealed during a text conversation between Kesha and Lady Gaga. The new statement came immediately following a note from Kesha’s team stating that the information about Dr. Luke’s sexual misconduct came from the “CEO of a major record label,” which Kesha and Gaga were discussing privately and was not intended to be made public in court. “Kesha and her legal team are fully aware that Ms. Perry has unequivocally confirmed that she was not raped by Dr. Luke. Kesha and her attorneys should be ashamed of themselves for not publicly acknowledging this and apologizing,” Dr. Luke’s legal team said. They added, “Instead, they continue to publicize this and other falsehoods. In fact, Kesha’ s false accusation involving Ms. Perry came to public light only because Kesha’s attorneys filed the accusation publicly.”
