Meghan’s First Kensington Palace Event
With Prince Harry and her mother Doria Ragland by her side, Meghan Markle held her first Kensington Palace event in support of her charity project.
In January, the Duchess of Sussex met with a group of women at the Hubb Community Kitchen in West London, as they came together to cook fresh food for the families affected by the horrific Grenfall Tower fire. Meghan quickly became deeply involved in their cause, and launched her first solo charity project in support of it.
In a speech Thursday, Meghan (without notes!) addressed those gathered to celebrate the release of the cookbook she helped the women publish.
“Working on this project for the past nine months has been a tremendous labor of love,” the poised royal said in video captured by ITV‘s Chris Ship. “I just recently moved to London and I felt so immediately embraced by this kitchen – your warmth and kindness, and also to be able to be in this city and to see in this one small room how multicultural it was.”
