Demi Lovato appears to have relapsed in her sobriety. The 25-year-old singer and actress apologizes to her parents and fans in her new single “Sober,” which debuted Thursday.

“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones who never left me / We’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore,” she sings in the chorus. Lovato said on Twitter that the song conveys her “truth.” Fans voiced their support for the star in the comments.

Lovato had celebrated her sixth year of sobriety in March. She voiced her gratitude for her health and happiness at the time. “Just officially turned 6 years sober. So grateful for another year of joy, health and happiness. It IS possible,” the singer tweeted. “Today is a very special day for me… I’m officially celebrating 6 years of sobriety!! I’m so thankful to my family, friends and @castcenters for being a part of this journey. A huge part of my recovery was learning to love myself and to give back to others,” she added.

“i’m so proud of you and i love you no matter what,” one person wrote. “you are so brave for sharing this, thank you.” “You’re not going to lose your real fans, and you didn’t let anyone down. Very proud of you for your honesty. We love you,” another person added.
