Crews attack house and forest fire in Shuswap

TAPPEN —  Fire crews in the Shuswap as well as wildfire crews were both in action last night following a house fire near Herald Provincial Park.

About 9:30 last night, emergency officials were alerted to the fire at a residence in the 4800 block of Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road. The fire was quite visible along that portion of Shuswap Lake.

Tappen Sunnbrae Fire Department were assisted by firefighters from White Lake and Shuswap Fire departments in fighting the blaze.

The fire ignited trees and the surrounding forest area and B.C. Wildfire Crews had to attend as well. The fire was contained by about 11:30 last night.
