Blue Jays add Canadian Pompey, six other players as rosters expand
TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays added seven players to their roster on Friday, inlcluding Canadian outfielder Dalton Pompey.
Rosters expanded from 25 men to 40 on Thursday as teams enter the stretch.
Pitchers Danny Barnes, Ryan Tepera and Matt Dermody join Pompey on the Blue Jays’ big-league roster beginning Friday night in Tampa Bay. Second baseman Devon Travis, who was optioned to rookie-league Bluefield on Thursday, catcher Josh Thole and outfielder Darrell Ceciliani round out the other roster moves.
Pompey, who played 34 games for the Blue Jays last season, will make his first appearance with Toronto this year.
