Ed Sheeran “The Puppet” is Back

Ed Sheeran’s lookalike puppet is back and starring in the new music video for “Happier.”

The singer dropped the new visual for the track, off his latest album (Divide), on Friday. It features the puppet from Ed’s “Sing” music video as he finds his ex-girlfriend, who is made out of balloons, looking happy on a date with a new man. Ed’s puppet then drinks alone in a bar as he reflects.

The clip is a whimsical interpretation of a brokenhearted ballad that was inspired by a real moment of despair for the singer. He wrote the tune after attending a wedding where he ran into his ex and her new beau – a man whom Sheeran had long despised.

Sheeran is currently on a world tour that will bring him to North America in late August. He’ll kick off his stadium trek in Pasadena, California on August 18th and will wrap it in November in Atlanta.
