Kamloops Blazers to hold Military Appreciation Night
KAMLOOPS — It’s the Kamloops Blazers annual Military Appreciation night this evening, when the team hosts the Everett Silvertips at the Sandman Centre.
The Blazers will be wearing camouflage jerseys tonight, and they’ll also be worn for the home game on Remembrance Day this Sunday.
There will be 750 active military, veterans and their families attending the game, along with a ceremonial puck drop, rappellers from the roof, a colour party during the anthem, and the 419 Squadron along with trumpet player Jerome Lidster to play the national anthem and the Last Post.
The game-worn camouflage jerseys will be available through online auction until November 16 at 9:00 p.m. Net proceeds from the auction will go to the Royal Canadian Poppy Trust Funds.
