Papa John’s Pizza serves up dreams for kids

KAMLOOPS — If you’re looking for a tasty way to give back today, Papa John’s Pizza is the place to go. 

Today is the 2nd annual Dreams For Kids Day, in support of the Sunshine Foundation of Canada. Participating Papa John’s Pizza locations in Kamloops, Kelowna, and Prince George are donating all of the proceeds for the day to the foundation, which provides kids living with severe physical disabilities or life threatening illnesses, the opportunity to go on a magical trip to Disneyland. 

“We really wanted to be able to support children with severe disabilities and life threatening illnesses, this is a life time opportunity for them that they may never be able to do or see in their lives, sometimes it’s the first time they’ve been away from their families, it’s an opportunity for us to give back and let these children have wonderful experience in their lives,” says Sandra Lawrence, Co-owner of Papa John’s Pizza.

In December more than 70 kids from the Southern Interior and Okanagan were flown to Disneyland. Last year, Papa John’s raised $45,000 for the Sunshine Foundation. To help make year’s event even bigger, all staff are donating 100% of their wages. Papa John’s in Kamloops will be open until midnight tonight, giving people lots of opportunity to order up a delicious pizza.
