Disaster financial assistance for mudslide victims now available
VICTORIA — Good news for those who were negatively impacted by mudslides Aug. 11-12.
The provincial government says Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is now available to eligible British Columbians in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, including Cache Creek, Ashcroft and Bonaparte Indian Band.
“DFA is available to homeowners, residential tenants, small business owners, farmers, charitable organizations and local government bodies who were unable to obtain insurance to cover these disaster-related losses,” says the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
Those wanting to apply for the funding must submit their applications to Emergency Management BC by Nov. 28, 2018. You can download an application by clicking here.
