Tim Hortons Camp Day helps local Kamloops kids

KAMLOOPS — Tim Hortons restaurants right across North America are brewing up a difference, as part of the annual Camp Day fundraiser.

Today proceeds from a cup of coffee or any hot beverage will be donated directly to the Tim Hortons children foundation, helping to provide thousands of kids from low-income families with the adventure of a lifetime, a chance to go to camp.

“All the Tim Hortons operators that are participating donate %100 of their coffee sales to the foundation for the day. Customers can help us out by buying a coffee, or buying a wristband,” said Jim Bryan, General Manager of Tim Hortons in Kamloops.

Last year $12.4 million dollars was raised in Canada and the United States giving close to 18,000  kids an opportunity to take part in one of the seven camps at no cost.

Funds raised at all Tim Hortons restaurants in Kamloops today will benefit local kids.

“It teaches them life skills, these are kids that wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity. We work with some local agencies like the Boys and Girls club, and we ask them to recommend children that would benefit, and enjoy this type of experience.”
