Food Truck Festival fuels Therapeutic Riding Association

KAMLOOPS — Food trucks from all across the province have descended on Kamloops tonight (June 17), for the City’s first ever Food Truck Festival.

Trucks from 70 Mile House, Revelstoke, Kamloops and the Okanagan, have set up in a field near the airport. The event is a fundraiser for the Therapeutic Riding Association, a non-profit charitable organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding to kids and adults with disabilities, and offers assisted therapy lessons to at risk youth in our community.

“If a 1000 people come and they were to each give us a suggested $5 per person, we could potentially raise $5,000 just from admission by donation, and then each food truck if they do well tonight, are going to give us proceeds of their choice, so it could be a $10,000 evening, but our goal is $5,000 that would be fantastic,” says Ashley Sudds, Executive Director of Therapeutic Riding Association.

13 trucks offering a wide variety of food have arrived, and will be selling dinner, desserts and drinks. The festival will run from 5pm to 9pm. Access to the event is off Aviation way near Tranquille Road.
