KAMLOOPS — A 19 year old man remains in hospital with serious injuries after a bizarre altercation in Brocklehurst – and now the man alleged to have attacked him has been charged with attempted murder.

Kamloops RCMP Corporal Jodi Shelkie says it began before 5 o’clock Sunday morning when a Holt Street resident looked out his window and saw the man standing on his driveway.

Shelkie says that led to a physical confrontation involving a weapon.

“The victim is 19 years old, and he is in hospital now with very serious and potentially life threatening injuries,” stated Shelkie.

Shelkie says the victim and suspect didn’t know each other, and the homeowner was not previously known to police.

A charge of attempted murder was sworn against 39 year old Kristopher Shaun Teichrieb in provincial court today.

Meantime, a go-fund-me page has been set up to assist with medical costs that may be incurred by the victim, identified as 19 year old Jessie Simpson of Savona.
