Selena Gomez Breaks Her Silence
In a new cover story for Elle magazine, Selena Gomez says her life has been “majorly downsized,” adding, “I’m going back to simplicity. It’s me saying, ‘I’m exactly where I am. And I’m so happy I’m in this place.’”
The most-followed person on Instagram further reveals, “I’m not on the internet. I haven’t been on the internet in months. I don’t have my password for Instagram. I have no apps on my phone, no photo editing apps.” When she needs to update Instagram, she says, she accesses it from her friend’s phone.
Selena also reveals that she’s been volunteering five days a week at A21, a global anti-human-trafficking nonprofit in Southern California. She met the organization’s co-founder in church and was invited to visit and learn about their mission.
“The idea of human trafficking to me is…I’m flabbergasted…I can’t be silent about this,” Selena said. She admits she’s kept it on the down low until now because “it’s out of my comfort zone. I needed to be fully immersed in it.”
