RCMP: don’t shoot the squirrels in Cache Creek!

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — It seems some residents in Cache Creek may have a little too much time on their hands.

Ashcroft RCMP Sgt. Kathleen Thain says there have been reports of squirrels being shot by BB guns in the Cumming Boulevard area.

“The public is reminded that harming animals in this way and in an urban area may be deemed unsafe and could result in charges of mischief or cruelty to animals.”

It’s not known if the animals are a nuisance in the area, or if residents are taking potshots simply to pass the time.
