Kappel succeeds Kamloops’ Smith as BCLC chair

KAMLOOPS — The NDP government has announced a new board chair for the Kamloops-based BC Lottery Corporation.

Peter Kappel succeeds Bud Smith, who served as board chair for nearly five years.

Smith is a former Social Credit MLA for Kamloops and former B.C. Attorney General.

His appointment expired Thursday (May 31).

Kappel is a former managing director and head of securitization with DVB Bank AG in London, and has been a director of Partnerships BC since 2009.
