EMILY BLUNT BRINGS MAGIC TO THE BANKS FAMILY: The first official trailer for Mary Poppins Returns debuted Monday. A sequel to the 1964 film Mary Poppins, the 2018 Rob Marshall-helmed film follows grown-up Jane (Emily Mortimer), Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw), Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt), Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and Topsy (Meryl Streep). In the trailer, Poppins brings her trademark sparkle to the grown up Jane and Michael, and their children. Mary Poppins Returns will hit theaters on Dec. 19.

DWAYNE JOHNSON JOINS STUNTMAN: Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia‘s Seven Buck Productions have inked a deal to produce the documentary Stuntman. Kurt Mattila of Driven Pictures directs the film, which walks the line between documentary and action flick. Stuntman centers on the highs and lows of Eddie Braun as he attempts to recreate the infamous Snake River Canyon rocket jump his hero Evel Knieval pulled off in 1974. “I’ve been lucky to work with some amazing stunt performers over the course of my career, the entire stunt community is the backbone of our business,” Johnson said in a statement. “Having the opportunity to showcase Eddie’s career and this often overlooked line of work is an honor for us.”

LADYWORLD CLIP DROPS: Maya Hawke is talking leadership dynamics in a new clip for Ladyworld. The film, a surreal post-apocalyptic suspense thriller, takes a Lord of the Flies-esque look at female identity after a devastating earthquake hits. Ariela Barer (Marvel‘s Runaways) also stars. The film is set to debut in Austin on September 22nd at Fantastic Fest.

UNIVERSAL TAKES ON THAI CAVE RESCUE FILM: Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti have inked a deal with Universal Pictures on their film about the Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand over the summer. In all, 12 boys ages 11-16 and the coach of their soccer team were rescued from 1,000 meters below ground over three days from July 8-10thafter getting trapped there on June 23rd. “Like many who watched the events of the rescue mission unfold earlier this year, we were in awe of the divers’ heroic efforts and relieved when they were able to bring the entire soccer team and their coach to safety. We’re excited for the opportunity to tell this amazing story with Universal,” said De Luca and Brunetti in a joint statement.
