Kamloops Gun Show vendors in fraudster’s crosshairs

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Target Sports Association (KTSA) is warning that fraudsters have their sights set on registered gun show vendors.

According to the KTSA, a scammer had contacted vendors while falsely claiming to be the organization.

The KTSA is urging vigilance after the suspected fraud attempt, noting that they will never ask for credit card or payment information over the phone.

“Do not provide financial, personal or membership information to unsolicited callers claiming to represent KTSA,” the organization said in a social media post. “If you receive a suspicious call, do not share any information.”

Vendors who have received a suspicious call or those who believe they have been contacted by an illegitimate representative are asked to reach out to the KTSA at (250) 320-0234 or admin-assistant@ktsa.ca.

This is the third report of fraudsters having a Kamloops-area market in their crosshairs in recent months, following warnings to vendors at the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation’s Craft-A-Fair in October and the Kamloops Christmas Market in September.

The 42nd annual KTSA Gun Show will run from April 17 to 18, 2027, at McArthur Island Sports Center.

CFJC Today has reached out to the KTSA and Kamloops RCMP for more details.
